License Renewal Update from TDLR
To assist those impacted by the Hurricane Harvey, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is implementing fast-track licensing procedures for all eligible TDLR licensees in the affected counties to help them recover and return to work as quickly as possible.
The following procedures are in effect for the duration of the declared disaster period and any extensions:
License expiration dates automatically extended. All eligible licensees in the affected counties currently in the renewal period will have their license expiration dates automatically extended by 60 days. Check your license status online.
Late fees and license replacement fees waived. TDLR will waive renewal late fees and offer replacement licenses at no cost for all eligible licensees in the affected counties. Contact TDLR at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-803-9202 to order a duplicate license at no cost.
Continuing education (CE) requirements automatically waived. All eligible licensees in the affected counties may renew without completing continuing education requirements.
Extended grace period for expired licenses. Licensees in the affected area with licenses expired beyond the usual expiration limits will be allowed to renew
The affected counties are those included in Governor Greg Abbott’s disaster proclamation:
Angelina,Aransas, Atascosa, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Bexar, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Caldwell, Calhoun, Cameron, Chambers, Colorado, Comal, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Gonzales, Grimes, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kerr, Kleberg, Lavaca, Lee, Leon, Liberty, Live Oak, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Refugio, San Jacinto, Sabine, San Patricio, Trinity, Tyler, Victoria, Walker, Waller, Washington, Wharton, Willacy, and Wilson.

The Texas Academy is now accepting nominations for president-elect, Director at Large – Communications, treasurer-elect, Academy delegate, region directors elect and three nominating committee members. The Texas Academy Foundation is accepting nominations for director-elect, treasurer-elect and secretary.

ASPEN Malnutrition Week – September 18-22
The Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an official supporter of ASPEN’s Malnutrition Awareness Week™, September 18-22nd. This week provides for an opportunity to increase awareness among health professional about malnutrition, and to educate them on the need to assess patients and intervene early. As such, ASPEN will host 5 webinars to assist in educating health professionals. As a supporter of Malnutrition Awareness Week™, Texas Academy members are able to register for the webinars without cost.
