Past President Irma G. Gutierrez, RD,LD Speaks at WIC Internship Graduation

On August 27, 2009, I was invited to speak to the interns for the State WIC Internship! This was an honor for me since one of the interns was Kelley Roop, who is one of my Round Rock WIC Clinic Nutritionists. I spoke to the interns about “Volunteerism” and how important becoming a volunteer would be in their careers.

Kelley graduated from Texas State University in December, 2007.
She worked for me from February, 2008 to January, 2009 as a nutritionist until she began her Dietetic Internship. She is now back in the WIC clinic working hard like always. Kelley also became engaged while doing her internship and will be married on October 10, 2009.

TDA, an affiliate of the American Dietetic Association, is a not-for-profit professional organization of over 4,000 registered dietitians, dietetic technicians, and students in Texas.
