Allison Childress, PhD, RDN, CSSD, LD completed her dietetic internship and earned her master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas Tech University. She is currently working toward her doctorate in Addictive Disorders and Recovery. She is employed as an instructor at Texas Tech University, where she teaches DPD courses and serves as a mentor to undergraduate and graduate students. She also works as an outpatient dietitian specializing in cardiac, pediatric, geriatric and sports nutrition as well as weight management. Allison has been published in The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior and has been a featured speaker at statewide conferences for several disciplines. Allison serves as Treasurer-Elect of the TAND Board of Directors and Past President of the Lubbock Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has been recognized as Outstanding Preceptor in Lubbock and was twice named an Everyday Hero by AND.
