State Policy Representative<br> Debbie’s passion for nutrition began over 30 years ago when she took a college nutrition class. Her education began on the west coast with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science from Loma Linda University (California) and finished on the east coast with her Master of Science from Boston University (Massachusetts). Her first experiences were working in clinical and community nutrition before moving with her husband to Killeen, Texas where she was Director of Nutrition Services at Metroplex Hospital for four years. Debbie always had a passion for nutrition but for several years worked in marketing and managing her husband’s hospital pharmacy software business and being Mom to two delightful daughters. When her youngest left for college she decided to get back to her real passion of dietetics. She has been working on the Legislative Committee since 2008, including Nutrition Day at the Capitol and the TDA Legislative Day in 2009. She teaches community nutrition classes, volunteers with the local food bank, and works as Web Editor for the VN DPG. She attended ADA’s first Advocacy Training in Washington DC May 2010 and is excited to be part of TDA’s promotion of Registered Dietitians as “The Nutrition Experts in Texas”.
